Why most Columbus hot tub removals go sideways

A hot tub is 600-1,000 pounds dry, 4,000-6,000 pounds full, and connected to a 240V breaker that needs to be cut before anyone touches it. Most homeowners try to handle it themselves, get halfway through draining, realize the deck has to come apart to get it out, and call us anyway — usually at 4pm on a Saturday after a weekend of swearing.

We do this in three hours, flat. Two crew, a sawzall, a dolly, and a truck. We disconnect, drain, dismantle into haulable pieces, get it out through whatever opening exists, haul it away, and you're done.

The actual process

Step one: we shut off the breaker and disconnect the hardwired feed. (If it's plug-in 110V — rare on Columbus tubs — we just unplug.) Step two: drain. We bring a pump that empties most tubs in 20-30 minutes; the water goes to your yard or driveway, your call. Step three: cut. We dismantle the tub on-site into 4-8 pieces using a sawzall — way easier to haul than trying to wrestle a whole tub through a fence gate. Step four: haul to the metal recycling yard for the frame and SWACO for the shell.

Total time on-site: 2-4 hours depending on tub size and access. Total cost: flat rate from the photo, no surprises.

Above-ground pools and swim spas too

Same crew, same approach for above-ground pools (we drain, dismantle, haul the frame and liner) and swim spas (basically a long hot tub — we cut and haul). Quote scales with size. Most above-ground pool removals in Columbus run $499-$899.

What about the deck around the tub?

If your hot tub is sunk into a deck, we can either work around the deck (cut the tub out and leave the deck) or take the surrounding decking with it as part of the haul. Tell us your preference at quote — both are doable.
