๐ŸŠ ATTIC CLEANOUT

Attic Cleanout

Attics are where stuff goes when you can't bear to throw it out but don't want to look at it. We'll bring it down, sort it on the lawn, and haul whatever you don't want to keep.

QUICK ANSWER

Attic Cleanout starts at $199 in Columbus.

Flat-rate, all-inclusive, same-day available. The price you see is the price you pay โ€” no hidden fees, no surprise upcharges.

Attics in Columbus: not designed for storage, used for storage anyway

Most central-Ohio homes built before 1990 have unfinished attics that became de facto storage. Christmas decorations. Wedding china. The kid's college boxes. Old yearbooks. The decorations from the Halloween that was a really big deal in 2009. None of it should be up there long-term โ€” Columbus attics swing 40+ degrees with the seasons and most of what's stored gets damaged eventually.

We bring it all down. Pull-down stairs, knee walls, low-clearance crawl access โ€” we've worked all of it.

Old insulation and what we will (and will not) touch

If your attic has loose-fill or batt insulation that needs to come out, we can do basic insulation removal as part of a cleanout (not blown-in cellulose deep removal โ€” that needs a vacuum truck). Vermiculite insulation in older Columbus homes (built before 1990) sometimes contains asbestos. If yours might, we'll tell you to get it tested before we touch it. Asbestos requires a licensed abatement contractor โ€” we'll point you to one in Franklin County.

What a typical attic cleanout produces

Most attic cleanouts produce 4-12 boxes of donatable goods (vintage clothes, dishware, books that are still readable), a stack of broken furniture, a pile of holiday stuff that's seen better days, and the inevitable bag of unidentified textiles. We sort it all on the way out, send the donatable to ReStore / Goodwill, recycle anything we can, and dispose of what's truly done.

QUESTIONS WE GET

About attic cleanout in Columbus.

How much does an attic cleanout cost in Columbus?

+
Most attic-only cleanouts run $199-$449. Combined attic + basement or attic + garage typically lands at the Big Bite tier ($449).

Do you remove old insulation?

+
Yes for batt insulation and small loose-fill jobs. No for blown-in cellulose deep removal โ€” that requires a vacuum truck. If you suspect vermiculite (common in pre-1990 Columbus homes), get it tested for asbestos before we touch it.

What if I can't get into the attic safely?

+
We'll handle it. Pull-down stairs, narrow access, low clearance โ€” bring it on. We do request that the access point itself isn't actively unsafe (rotten floor, etc.), but if you're not sure we'll come look first for free.

Will you donate vintage clothing or estate items?

+
Yes. Vintage clothing in good shape goes to ReStore or Volunteers of America Ohio. Anything we think has resale value gets photographed for Chomp's Pick โ€” and we'll tell you about it before we list anything.
