Hoarding cleanouts are different

Calling someone for help is the hardest part. By the time you're searching for a hoarder cleanout in Columbus, you've usually been thinking about it for months — sometimes years. We get that.

When we show up we don't take photos for marketing. We don't make jokes. We don't comment. We work, we work calmly, and we let you (or your family member) make decisions at whatever pace works. The 'before' photos that other haulers post all over their sites? We will never post yours.

How we structure a hoarding job

Step one: a free, no-pressure walk-through. Usually with a family member or social worker, sometimes with the person themselves. We look at the property, talk through what's truly going (vs. what feels like everything is going but isn't), and give a flat-rate quote with a multi-day plan if needed.

Step two: paced work. Most central-Ohio hoarder cleanouts take 2-5 days, broken into half-days so the homeowner can rest, make decisions, and feel some control over the process. We don't ask anyone to make 200 keep/chomp decisions in a row — that's not how human brains work.

Step three: deep clean. After the haul, the floors, walls, and fixtures often need real cleaning. We're not a deep-clean specialist crew but we work with several Columbus partners (especially for situations involving biohazard) and can refer.

Biohazard, pests, and when to call someone else

We handle most cluttered-but-not-medical situations directly: deep object hoarding, paper hoarding, food packaging hoarding, animal-related cluttered situations that don't involve significant biohazard. We come with PPE and respirators.

When we'll refer out: active rodent infestations (need pest control first), heavy mold, blood/medical biohazard, situations where adult protective services or APS is involved and they're recommending a specific contractor. Working with adult children, executors, and case managers

Many of our hoarder cleanouts come through adult children of an aging parent, executors handling an estate where hoarding became evident at death, or case managers working with a vulnerable adult through Franklin County social services. We work with all three.

Confidentiality matters: we don't list addresses anywhere, we don't post photos, and we sign NDAs without drama if your situation needs one. Just ask at booking.

Why people put off this call

Mostly because they think it'll cost a fortune and they think we'll judge them. The reality: most central-Ohio hoarder cleanouts run $1,500-$5,000 for a full single-family. That's less than most people fear, and significantly less than the medical and emotional cost of leaving it.

And we don't judge. We do this every week. The only thing we feel when we walk in is the urge to start working.
