What we take and what it costs

We take every common household appliance: refrigerators, freezers, chest freezers, washers, dryers, stackable units, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, range hoods, microwaves, water heaters, garbage disposals, AC window units, central AC condensers, mini-splits, wine coolers, ice makers, and the weird specialty stuff (kegerators, pellet smokers, etc.).

Single-item appliance pickup starts at $99. Multi-appliance (e.g., a whole kitchen reno) is volume-priced at our normal Bite Sizes.

Freon, refrigerant, and the small recycling fee

Anything with freon or refrigerant — fridges, freezers, AC units, dehumidifiers — has a small recycling fee ($25-50) on top of the haul. We have to drain refrigerants at a certified facility before scrapping the unit; that's an EPA requirement, not a profit center.

We tell you the fee upfront when we quote. No surprises at the door.

Working appliances and the donation route

Got an appliance that still works but you're upgrading? Tell us — we route working appliances to Habitat ReStore for resale. ReStore takes most fridges (under 10 years old, working), washers/dryers, and ranges. You get a donation receipt for the deductible value.

If it's truly broken, the metal goes to recycling, the plastic and glass to SWACO. Either way, you don't have to think about it.

Disconnect or just haul?

Tell us at booking. If your washer/dryer is plug-in and just needs to be unhooked, we do that as part of the haul — no extra charge. If your dishwasher or oven is hardwired or hard-plumbed, we'll need a 'disconnect window' before we arrive (or have us coordinate with your plumber/electrician).

Water heaters: we don't disconnect gas or hot water lines (that's plumber territory), but once it's disconnected we'll grab it.
