๐ŸŠ BASEMENT CLEANOUT

Basement Cleanout

Basements are where the real archaeology happens. Old sofas you forgot you had. The water heater from two heaters ago. Bins labeled in handwriting from 2004. We haul all of it โ€” including up the stairs.

QUICK ANSWER

Basement Cleanout starts at $249 in Columbus.

Flat-rate, all-inclusive, same-day available. The price you see is the price you pay โ€” no hidden fees, no surprise upcharges.

Basements are where stuff goes to be forgotten

Most Columbus basements have at least one of: a sectional that came down 15 years ago and never came back up, the water heater that got replaced (still down there), a treadmill nobody uses, totes of childhood stuff, the old playpen, multiple printers, and a workbench buried under tools that haven't been touched since the kids moved out.

We bring the moving blankets, the dollies, and the muscle to get all of it back up the stairs. Two-person crew minimum on basement work because nobody's body deserves to take a couch up alone.

Why we don't charge a stairs fee

A lot of haulers tack on a 'stairs surcharge' for basement and second-floor work. We don't. Stairs are part of basement cleanouts, period. If we quoted you a Big Bite tier and your basement's two flights down, we still charge Big Bite tier rates. The price is the price.

This matters in older central-Ohio neighborhoods (Clintonville, German Village, Bexley, Worthington's older sections) where basement stairs are tight, low-clearance, and built for 1920s humans. We've seen it. We've squeezed sectionals through it. Your house doesn't scare us.

The most common Columbus basement haul list

Basement cleanouts in Franklin County tend to look the same: old sectional or sleeper sofa, a water heater (we coordinate the metal recycling), 5-15 plastic storage totes that nobody's opened in a decade, exercise equipment, a sump pump or two, dehumidifiers, kid stuff, the contents of a hobby that ended in 2014, and decorative wood paneling somebody's regretting.

We sort everything on the way out โ€” donation pile, recyclable pile (especially appliances and metal), and trash. Most basement hauls produce 30-60% donatable goods.

Wet basement? Mold? Tell us before we come

Columbus basements take water. If your basement has flooded recently, has visible mold growth, or smells like 'old basement' for a real reason โ€” tell us when you book. We'll bring N95s, gloves, and dispose of soft goods (couches, mattresses, fabric items) appropriately. We're not a remediation company, but we know when to call one and when we can just haul.

QUESTIONS WE GET

About basement cleanout in Columbus.

How much does a basement cleanout cost in Columbus?

+
Most basement cleanouts run $249-$699 depending on volume. A typical "decades of storage" basement clears at our Big Bite tier ($449); fully packed basements (hoarder territory or post-flood) run $699-$1,200.

Do you charge extra for stairs?

+
No. Stairs are part of basement work. If we quoted you a price for a basement cleanout, that's the price โ€” regardless of how many flights, how tight the turn, or how heavy the sectional.

Can you remove a water heater?

+
Yes. Disconnected water heaters (gas or electric) are part of a normal basement haul. If yours is still hooked up, we'll need a plumber to disconnect it first โ€” we can recommend one in Columbus if you don't have a guy.

My basement flooded. Can you haul wet/moldy stuff?

+
Yes โ€” we just need a heads-up at booking so we bring PPE. We'll haul wet couches, soaked carpet pad, ruined storage totes, etc. We're not a mold remediation crew, but we partner with Columbus restoration companies and can refer you if it's bigger than a haul-out.

Will you take old paint or chemicals from the basement?

+
Dried-out paint, yes. Liquid paint, motor oil, gasoline, pool chemicals โ€” those go to Franklin County hazardous-waste collection (free, runs monthly). We can't legally transport them.

Do I need to move things to the basement door first?

+
Nope. We come down to where the stuff is. Tight stairs are our problem, not yours.
